David Demuth
Recording Secretary

David M. Demuth, son of Herve M. Demuth, is a second generation Teamster of Local 251. Dave has been a loyal, dedicated member of Local 251 since 1983.

Dave's career as a driver has kept him busy. From 1983 until 1987, he worked for Roger Williams Foods. From 1987 until 1992, he drove for M&G Convoy (Carhaul). In 1992, Dave drove for Brooks Drugs, and when the company moved to Connecticut, its drivers joined Teamsters Local 493 in Uncasville, CT. In 1995, Dave started driving for Liquid Carbonic (now Praxair) in RI. He was elected Shop Steward at Praxair in 1997. Next, Dave was elected to the Executive Board as Recording Secretary in 2001. Most recently, in October of 2003, he started working with the AFL-CIO's Dislocated Worker Program.

David believes in working hard and doing the job right. He volunteers for many Teamster activities, such as Teamsters Political Action Committee and Teamsters Human Rights Committee, acts as Coordinator of the Union "Yes" Salvation Army Kettle Day, and is involved with the RI Food Bank, picket lines, fundraisers, etc.
