Re: Disaster Alert Notice
Dear Members:
I am writing
to inform you that the Teamsters Disaster Relief
Fund has recently received a "Disaster
Alert Notice" for the State of Rhode Island
due to the severe storms and flooding that has caused
major damage in the following counties: Kent, Newport,
Providence, and Washington.
On behalf of General President Hoffa, we are requesting
your assistance to aid Teamster members in our area
that have suffered a loss. They recognize the devastation
in our area and, although the funds are limited,
would like to help as many people as possible.
Therefore, I
am requesting that you contact the Union Hall at
401-434-0454, extension 222 and inform us of any
of our members that have been impacted by the disaster
as we have the "Request for
Help" forms. The completed "Request for
Help" forms (including all requested documentation)
must be returned to the Union Hall by Tuesday May
4, 2010.
Thank you for your cooperation in this important
matter; and if you have any questions, please feel
free to contact me.
Fraternally yours,
Joseph J. Bairos, Secretary-Treasurer
Principal Executive Officer
Teamsters Local Union No. 251
